TAKE PART IN PLANNING A PROFESSIONAL EXHIBITION
FOR GRAVITY FIELDS FESTIVAL – BASED AT GRANTHAM MUSEUM
• Are you interested to learn more, as a volunteer, about exhibitions, history research or photography?
• Would you like to help us plan a fantastic interactive globe exhibition as part of the Gravity Fields Festival?
• Are you available for 4 days from the 30th July to the 2nd August?
• Are you 16+? (and maybe looking to stand out on university applications, or want to help out on a festival project, or perhaps a more mature local historian)?
If you’ve answered ‘Yes’ to the above, we want to hear from you! Please email….. your name and availability details for the 30 July to 2 August, to firstname.lastname@example.org . Or text Rosemary on 07879 405262 and Rosemary will return your call.
The project will include trips to the Joseph Banks centre in Horncastle, Revesby Abbey and in your own time further research with travel funded by the project. If you are not free that week but would still like to get involved you can help with research or at the time of the festival from 26 to 30 September.
The interactive globe will chart the voyages of Sir Joseph Bank and HMS Endeavour and will be designed by you and digital experts. The 2018 theme of the Gravity Fields Festival marks the 250th anniversary of Sir Joseph Banks and the sailing of the HMS Endeavour to Australia.
Sir Joseph Banks grew up at Revesby Abbey in Lincolnshire and was an English naturalist, botanist and patron of the natural sciences.
The Gravity Fields Festival is supported by South Kesteven District Council, Arts Council England and Heritage Lottery Fund.
