Is this you?

● Enjoy working within a small team
● Confident talking to people and meeting the public
● Good customer service skills
● Competent with handling money
● Interested in local history
● Available on a rota basis or flexible availability
● Previous shop or visitor desk experience an advantage
but not essential as training will be given

The role and the challenge

Visitor and Gift Shop Assistant

To greet and inform visitors and assist in the smooth running of the Museum gift shop

Activities

● Welcome and inform Museum visitors
● Create interest in displays, exhibitions and activities
● Help gift shop customers
● Process purchases and operate the till
● Keep an eye on the shop and entrance area
● Check deliveries and price products
● General housekeeping such as tidying shelves
● Maintain/restock goods on display
● Support the Museum generally

When?

From June 2012 – Half a day per month minimum. (Fri/Sat/Sun)
